Quick answer: A $99 ounce works out to about $3.54 per gram, versus roughly $8.50–$11.40 per gram when you buy the same tiers by the eighth. Ours are indoor-grown, whole-bud or smalls from the same batches we sell in eighths, with a batch-matched COA on the lab results page. What a $99 ounce is not: sprayed CBD flower, remediated biomass, trim, or "greenhouse sold as indoor." Below is how to read a cheap ounce, how ours compare, and a realistic stock-up number for the window between now and the December 11, 2026 federal deadline.
Why are THCA ounces suddenly cheaper?
Three things stacked at once. Fall harvest ("Croptober") brings the year's largest supply of outdoor and light-dep flower into the market from October through January, which historically pushes wholesale prices down 10–25%. Retail bans in Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia and others have pushed inventory that used to move through smoke shops onto the online market. And the December 11 deadline means every grower and brand would rather sell an ounce today than hold it. Good for buyers — as long as you can tell a real ounce from a relabeled one.
What should a cheap THCA ounce never be?
- Flower with no batch-matched COA. A certificate from some other batch, a lab you can't look up, or a test more than six months old is the most common tell.
- "Sub-$25 ounces." At that price the math only works for CBD flower, hemp biomass, or product that failed a test somewhere. Real indoor cannabis flower costs more than that to grow.
- Undisclosed grow type. Greenhouse and outdoor flower are fine products — at greenhouse and outdoor prices. Look for the grow type stated on the listing.
- Moisture-padded weight. Wet flower weighs more and molds faster. Properly cured flower should snap, not bend.
- "Remediated" concentrate flower or trim passed off as buds. Ask what the bag contains: whole buds, smalls (popcorn buds), or shake.
Our COA guide covers what each panel means: THCA flower vs regular weed explains why the THCA number alone tells you little, and every product page links its batch certificate.
What is in a Haze Connect $99 ounce?
Two kinds, both indoor:
- Value ounces — whole bud. Indoor A-tier strains (currently Lava Cake, Kush Mintz, Frosted Cherry Bomb, Sherbanger, White Widow and Watermelon Z) from the same lots we sell by the eighth. Lava Cake, Sherbanger and several smalls are also available as $59 halves.
- Exotic smalls ounces. Popcorn-sized buds from our AAA exotic drops (currently Carbon Fiber, Orange Push Pop, Top Gun, Strawberry Cough and Pluto smalls) — same genetics and same COA as the $40 eighth, smaller nugs.
Each ounce ships in a sealed, smell-resistant bag with a humidity pack, and at $99 every ounce clears the free-shipping threshold on its own. Browse the live list at $99 THCA ounces.
How does the price per gram compare?
| Format | Price | Per gram |
|---|---|---|
| Exotic (AAA) eighth | $40 / 3.5g | $11.43 |
| Indoor (A) eighth | $30 / 3.5g | $8.57 |
| Indoor (A) quarter | $55 / 7g | $7.86 |
| Indoor (A) half ounce | $100 / 14g | $7.14 |
| Value half ounce (Lava Cake) | $59 / 14g | $4.21 |
| $99 ounce (value whole bud or exotic smalls) | $99 / 28g | $3.54 |
Compared with adult-use dispensary pricing in states like Illinois, Michigan or Missouri, where excise taxes add 10–37% on top of $200–$300 ounces, the gap is larger still. See our THCA flower cost guide.
Whole-bud value ounce or exotic smalls — which should you pick?
Smalls are the same plant as the big nugs; they grow lower on the branch and get less light, so they are smaller and sometimes slightly less dense, but they come off the same COA. If you grind everything anyway, smalls are the better deal because you are paying for the strain, not the nug size. If you roll whole-bud joints or care about bag appeal, the value whole-bud ounce is the pick. Read best THCA flower for beginners if you're choosing a first strain.
How much should you actually stock up before December 11?
Work from your real usage, not the headline. A gram a day is about 30 grams a month, so one ounce per month of runway. A half-gram a day is an ounce every two months. Then apply two limits:
- Storage. Properly cured flower in sealed glass at 55–62% relative humidity, kept dark and cool, holds its character for 6–12 months with slow terpene loss; beyond that it still smokes but flattens. Our storage guide covers jars, humidity packs, and when the freezer is (and isn't) a good idea.
- Law. The federal definition changes December 11, 2026 unless Congress acts again; how states treat possession of flower bought before that date will vary and is unsettled. Buy what you'll use inside your storage window; don't treat flower as a long-term asset.
For most daily smokers that means two to four ounces, split across strains you already like, plus a box of pre-rolls or a couple of concentrates for variety. Our stock-up guide walks through the other formats.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a $99 THCA ounce good quality?
It can be, if it's indoor flower from a real batch with a matched COA. Ours are the same indoor lots we sell by the eighth, offered as whole-bud value tiers or exotic smalls. Under about $50 an ounce, be skeptical of what the bag actually contains.
What are THCA smalls?
Smaller "popcorn" buds from lower on the same plants as the top-shelf nugs. Same strain, same certificate, smaller size, lower price.
How long will an ounce of THCA flower last in storage?
Six to twelve months in sealed glass with a humidity pack, kept dark and cool. Terpenes fade first; potency changes slowly. See our storage guide for details.
Do you ship ounces to Texas?
Yes. Federally compliant hemp flower — along with our pre-rolls, vapes, concentrates and Delta-9 gummies — ships to Texas under the 2018 Farm Bill through December 11, 2026. See how we ship to Texas.
Will THCA flower be legal to own after December 11, 2026?
Federal hemp status for high-THCA flower ends December 11 unless Congress changes the law; the statute has no grandfather clause, and state treatment of previously purchased flower varies. We recommend buying only what you'll use within your storage window.
Is there a cheaper way to buy than the ounce?
Not per gram. The ounce is our lowest price per gram. Orders of $99 or more ship free, so a single ounce qualifies.
