"How many puffs is a THCA disposable?" is one of the most common questions shoppers have, and most answers are guesses with no method behind them. Here is a way to estimate it yourself from the size of the device, so you can compare products honestly.
The basic math
The amount of oil per puff depends on the device, the power setting and how long you draw. One brand that publishes its estimates lists about 600 puffs for a 2g disposable, 1,000 for 3g, 1,600 for 5g and 2,800 or more for 8g, based on medium power and roughly 2-second draws. Divide those out and you get about 3 milligrams of oil per puff.
Rule of thumb: grams of oil x 1,000 divided by 3 = estimated puffs. A 1g disposable is roughly 330 puffs under those assumptions. Your numbers will move up or down with bigger or smaller draws.
| Device size | Estimated puffs (about 3 mg per puff) |
|---|---|
| 1g | About 330 |
| 2g | About 670 |
| 3g | About 1,000 |
| 5g | About 1,670 |
These are estimates, not guarantees. Treat any listing that gives an exact puff count with no method as marketing.
How long that is in days
Pick your habit:
- Light user (10 puffs a day): a 1g lasts about a month, a 2g about two months.
- Regular user (30 puffs a day): a 1g lasts about 11 days, a 2g about 3 weeks.
- Heavy user (100 puffs a day): a 1g lasts about 3 days, a 2g about a week.
Concentrated oil is strong, so many people take fewer puffs than they expect. Start small.
Make it last longer
- Take shorter draws.
- Use a lower power setting if the device has one.
- Keep it upright and out of heat, such as a hot car.
- Do not chain-puff; give the coil a few seconds to cool.
Is it a real THCA product? What to check
- Batch COA. Look for a lab report that matches the product, from an accredited lab.
- Contaminant panel. It should include pesticides, heavy metals and residual solvents.
- Cannabinoid profile. A THCA product should say what it contains. If a vape also contains other cannabinoids such as delta-8, HHC or THCP, know that some states treat those differently.
- Sealed packaging and clear branding.

If it is not hitting
A disposable that stops hitting is not always empty. Common causes are a cold device, a clogged airway or low battery. Our not-hitting troubleshooting guide walks through the fix.

FAQ
How many puffs are in a 1g disposable?
Roughly 300 to 350, using about 3 mg per puff. It varies with how you draw.
Why did my disposable die early?
Big draws, high power or heat exposure all shorten life.
Can I recharge a disposable?
Some have charging ports. Check the packaging. A charged battery does not add oil.
21+ only. Vape laws differ by state. Source for puff estimates: one brand's published specification table, used as an example only. Cannabinoid content varies by batch.
