Hash, kief, bubble hash and rosin all start with the same thing: the sticky resin glands on the cannabis plant. They differ in how that resin is collected and what shape it ends up in. Here is a plain comparison so you can pick the right one.

Kief
The simplest of the four. Kief is the powder that collects at the bottom of a grinder. It is easy to use and easy to find, and it is a good gateway to the other forms.
Moroccan-style hash

Bubble hash
Bubble hash is made by agitating cannabis in ice water and filtering the resin heads through screens of different mesh sizes. Quality is often described by how well the heads melt when heated. It can be sold loose or pressed into a brick. Our bubble hash brick is 3g for $50, about $16.67 per gram.
Rosin

Potency
All four are concentrated compared with flower, but the exact numbers depend on the batch. The COA is the only reliable source. THCA converts to THC when heated, so smoking, vaping or dabbing activates it. See the THCA dab temperature guide for how that works.
How to use each
- Kief: sprinkle on a bowl or joint.
- Moroccan hash and bubble hash: crumble onto flower, add to a joint, or use a small piece in a dry herb vaporizer.
- Rosin: dab it, vaporize it or top a bowl.
Start with a piece the size of a grain of rice. Concentrates are much stronger than flower.
Storage
- Use airtight containers.
- Keep it cool and dark. Fridge storage extends shelf life for hash and rosin.
- Let it warm to room temperature before opening.
- Do not leave it in a hot car or direct sun.

Is bubble hash stronger than flower?
By weight, yes, since it is concentrated resin.
Is bubble hash the same as rosin?
No. Bubble hash is washed resin. Rosin is pressed with heat. Rosin can be made from bubble hash.
Is kief the same as hash?
Kief is loose resin. Hash is usually kief or resin pressed together.
Does hash need to be decarbed?
Not if you smoke or vape it. Heat activates it as you inhale.
