"Moroccan hash" can mean two different things online. One is the traditional hashish with a long history in Morocco's Rif region. The other is a hemp-compliant THCA product made in the same style. This guide is about the second one, and what the first one can teach you about how to use it.
What does "Moroccan" mean here?
In the cannabis world, Moroccan hash refers to a style of hash: resin collected from the plant and pressed into a block or slab. It is a style name, not a legal category. When we say THCA Moroccan hash, we mean hemp-derived resin in that pressed style, with a lab report that shows its THCA content and keeps delta-9 THC within the hemp limit. If you have seen history pages that mention Morocco as a major hashish source, that is about the traditional product, which is not the same as what you can buy as hemp.

Four ways to use it
1. In a bowl
Break off a small piece, warm it between your fingers, and crumble it over a bowl of flower. This is the easiest way to start.
2. In a joint
Sprinkle crumbled hash along a joint as you roll, or layer it in the middle. Go light; hash burns fast.
3. In a vaporizer
Many dry herb vaporizers handle hash well at low to mid temperatures. A small piece goes a long way.
4. In a dab rig
Some people dab hash, though it is a firmer material. Use a low temperature. See the THCA dab temperature guide.
Remember: THCA needs heat
THCA converts to THC when heated. Smoking, vaping or dabbing activates it. Eating it raw will not give you the same effect. Hash is concentrated, so start with a piece about the size of a grain of rice.
Storage
- Wrap it in parchment, then store it in an airtight container.
- Keep it cool and dark. A fridge works well.
- Let it warm to room temperature before handling.

Is Moroccan hash stronger than flower?
Hash is a concentrate, so by weight it is usually stronger than flower. Check the batch COA for numbers.
Can I put it in a pre-roll?

Why does it smell different from flower?
Hash is made of concentrated resin, so the aroma is earthy, spicy and sweet in a way flower often is not.
